We created UI screens for several scenes throughout the film. Specifically, we collaborated with motion artist Travis Krause on a complex scene involving the cockpit instrumentation of a moving aircraft. While this film depicts life in a way that is not necessarily realistic, in this case it was important to take a realistic approach to the UI design with the aircraft’s instrumentation. The challenge of this work was to make the instrumentation work accurately to show the particular movement of the aircraft in the scene to support the story.

What you see here is the concept art submitted.

This episodic TV show required User Interface (UI) and background displays for various sets throughout the show on each episode. Our work was to design and animate very script specific screens. We usually receive the scripts as they are ready, so in the design phase we don’t know what all of the applications of that design will be. It is always a fun challenge to design a style of look that will be versatile enough for an unknown variety of data. We did 2 seasons of this show.
